Instructions on Make Data CD/DVD

 

With the Burn Data CD/DVD function, you can burn data to a CD/DVD, make a bootable disc, and append data to an existing multisession disc.

 

Main Window/Options

(1) Burn Data CD/DVD tab
Click to display the main tab of Burn Data CD/DVD.
(2) About tab
Click to display the support information of Burn Data CD/DVD.
(3) (Eject and Load) button
Click to eject or load a CD/DVD drive.
(4) Current recorder drop-down list
Click to select a recorder you want to use.
(5) Disc name textbox
Use this to enter a label for the disc you want to burn.
(6) Data Information Area
Displays a list of the files and folders you added.
(7) Data Size Scale
Indicates the total size of the data you added. You can tell whether the data will fit on the disc or the disc will be too small by the scale. The upper limit of the scale changes according to the size of data you added.
(8) Status
Displays the burning information.
(9) (Add) button
Click to add the data you want to burn, you can select both files and folders.
(10) (Delete) button
Click to remove the selected items from the Data Information Area.
(11) (Settings) button
Click to set burning options.
The following pop-up displays when you click the Settings button.

Make necessary selections, and click OK.
The available options are as follows:
Burning drop-down list
Click to select the burning speed. There are various options available. The Max speed, which takes the shortest time, is stable for most recorders. The lowest speed provides the most stable quality. Max speed is selected by default.
Project type, with three options:
- Burn a blank disc, adding files later is not allowed
- Burn a blank disc, allowing adding files later (burning a multisession disc)
- Append data to an existing multisession disc

Sound after burning succeeds textbox

Use this to set the prompt sound you will hear after burning succeeds.
Do not eject the disc after burning completes checkbox
Select to not eject the disc automatically after burning completes.
Verify disc data after burning completes checkbox
Select to compare the burned files on the disc with the original files on the hard drive.
Make Bootable Disc checkbox
Select to activate the following options:
- Image file textbox and ¡­ button
Press to select the image file.
- Image type drop-down list
Press to select the image type. 1.44 MB floppy disk is selected by default.
- Platforms drop-down list
Press to select the platform. 80x86 is selected by default.
(12) (Reset Status) button
Click to empty the list of files and folder, and reset the burning options you set with the Settings button to the default.
(13) (Burn) button
Click to start the burning process.

To burn data to CD/DVD, follow the procedures below:

1:

Start the Make Data CD/DVD function.

2:

From the Current recorder drop-down list ((4)), select the recorder you want to use. To burn data CD/DVD, do not select Make ISO Image File, which will be described separately in the next section.

3:

Insert a blank CD/DVD in the drive you selected. In the Disc name textbox ((5)), enter a label for the disc you want to burn.

Click Add ((9)).

The Select files or folders to burn pop-up appears, as shown below. You can select both files and folders.

Select the data you want to burn, and then click Add. The files and folders you added will be displayed in the Data Information Area ((6)).
You can tell whether the data will fit on the disc or the disc will be too small by the scale.
If the data will not fit on the disc, you can delete some of the data, or insert a disc with a larger capacity.
If you want to delete some files or folders from the Data Information Area, select them first, and then click Delete ((10)).

You can also right-click in the Data Information Area and then add or delete files or folders with the pop-up menu.

Click Settings ((11)).

The following pop-up appears.

Set the desired burning options, and then click OK to close the pop-up.

6:

Confirm the burning information displayed in the Status bar ((8)).

7:

Click Burn ((13)).

The following pop-up appears.

Click Yes to start the burning process. A progress bar appears to show the progress of the burning process, as shown below.

The following pop-up appears when the burning process is complete.

Click OK to finish the burning process.

To make ISO image file, follow the procedures below:

1:

Start the Make Data CD/DVD function.

2:

From the Current recorder drop-down list ((4)), select Make ISO Image Files.

3:

Click Add ((9)).

The Select files or folders to burn pop-up appears, as shown below. You can select both files and folders.

Select the data you want to burn, and then click Add. The files and folders you added will be displayed in the Data Information Area ((6)).
You can tell the total size of the data by the scale.
If you want to delete some files or folders from the Data Information Area, select them first, and then click Delete ((10)).

You can also right-click in the Data Information Area and then add or delete files or folders with the pop-up menu.

4:

Click Burn ((13)).

The following pop-up appears.

Browse to the folder to save the image file. In the File name textbox, enter a name for the image file, and then click Save.
The following pop-up appears.

Click Yes to start making ISO image file. A progress bar appears to show the progress of the image file making process, as shown below.

The following pop-up appears when the image file making process is complete.

Click OK to finish the image file making process.
